Geek Out Big Kid Style At LSC After Dark

If a night out at the museum sounds like fun, this event is for you. But even if you’re not big on the museum scene, there’s a good chance you’ll still love LSC After Dark. Liberty Science Center hosts monthly adult only events, each with a unique theme. You’ll get to enjoy the museum exhibits (including the touch tunnel and infinity climber) without having to wait in long lines with little kids, but that’s not all. Every “after dark” event is 21+ and features booze and/or brews, music, dancing, laser shows and more!

Held on the third Thursday of every month, September’s theme is ’90s Night. Head to Liberty Science Center (222 Jersey City Boulevard, Jersey City) on 9/21 and learn all about ’90s gadgets like VCRs and floppy discs as you take them apart. You can also participate in the Slime Lab or get a ’90s makeover, courtesy of the School of Makeup Effects. Held from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m., tickets are $20 online and $25 at the door. $5 food plates will be available.

Past themes have included a Silent Party, Nerd Prom, Freak Show and Science Speakeasy. From fortune tellers to trivia games, lightning shows to sword swallowing, you never know what you’ll see here. If you can’t make this months event, I’m sure there’s something spectacular in store for October. Of course, I’d hit up this event more than once.
