Tapastre – Basement Bar, Terrific Tapas, Somerville

I love the idea of a basement bar. Something about it seems a little…forbidden. I know Prohibition has been over for decades but it’s fun to pretend. There are several basement bars in New Jersey, but this particular spot has terrific tapas. You’ll find an intimate atmosphere Mediterranean-inspired small plates, and rotating craft drafts.

What to try? There are so many flavorful options! If you’re looking for a little kick, start with the Jalapeno-Raspberry Beef Kebabs. If you’re craving a slice of pie, try the Truffled Pork Pizza with crispy shredded pork, black truffle, truffle oil and scallions. And while the focus is tapas, they also have burgers and sandwiches for a heartier meal.
